I’m not one to take or post a lot of selfies. Every now and then I do take the bathroom selfie just to see where I am.
Its not until a side to side comparison do the differences stand out.
It has been a year of experimentation .
- Experimenting with Diets
- Experimenting with Workout Regimes.
My Mother-in-Law foreshadowed my search for the correct diet, by telling me “If you ever injure yourself and can’t run so damn much your going to get fat”. A statement I knew to be true.
It didn’t hit home until I found out I had a Inguinal Hernia, which stopped me from doing any type of real exercise. Without any exercise, I had to concentrate on diet. This happened to coincide with my coworker discovering the Primal Blueprint by Mark Sisson and subsequently loosing 40 lbs and getting off of all of his diabetes medicine. This set me on the Low Carb Path. Which has changed my life for the better.
I’ve been experimenting with exercise regimes for years. Every one you can think of P90x, Insanity, 5×5 stronglifts, Street Workout, Steve Maxwell tapes, etc, etc, etc. Until I found gymnasticbodies.com through the Tim Ferris Podcast. It changed my life. I’ve been doing the daily exercises for the past 3 monthes. This is the first workout schedule that I like and I can feel the logic of all the progressions
I’ve been using coconut oil for just about everything for the past 6 month’s. The results have come in, Coconut Oil is super healthy, period.
I’ve been mainly using Coconut Oil for:
- Oil Pulling ( Swishing Coconut Oil in my mouth )
- Adding Coconut Oil to my Coffee.
First of all Oil Pulling. This is when you swish Coconut Oil in your mouth for 5 – 20 minutes then spit it out. I just started doing this consistently this year.
My stepmother told me about Oil Pulling years ago and I thought she was crazy. She stayed with me for week and swore by it.
Oil Pulling has a long history in Indian Ayurvedic practices which date back hundreds of year. Here are some of coconut oils benefits according to Dr. Axe Food is Medicine site.
- Balance Hormones
- Kill Candida
- Improve Digestion
- Moisturize Skin
- Reduce Cellulite
- Decrease Wrinkles and Age Spots
- Balance Blood Sugar and Improve Energy
- Improve Alzheimer’s
- Increase HDL and Lower LDL Cholesterol
- Burn Fat
I’ve also started to add Coconut Oil to my morning coffee. After hearing Nick the Tooth from the Modus V podcast puts Coconut Oil in his coffee, I tried it and loved it.
Coconut Oil in the morning coffee is a cup full of creamy goodness. With a little bit of experimenting my wife and I came up with blending:
- 1 cup of coffee
- 1 tablespoon of Coconut Oil
- 1 tablespoon of Ghee Butter
It tastes like a smooth mocha. Coconut Oil in the coffee holds down the morning cravings like a champ.
