Yes, yes guilty as charged. I am continuously charmed by the shiny paper and pretty pictures of magazines. No matter how often I tell myself that I’m going to stop buying magazines, I always find myself buying them. In essence magazines are useless, they cost from bet $3-$16(European ones), and for the majority of them; after you read ‘em once, you might as well use it as toilet paper because it’s not good for S**t after that.
I pay for subscriptions to Computer Arts, Layers Magazine, International Tattoo and Newsweek. In addition to that I have free subscriptions to Art in America, Good Housekeeping and Info world.
The magazines that I pay for, I try to read but there just isn’t enough time in the day to read every word, although can completely digest Newsweek in about 45 minutes, its so filled with fluff and unidentified sources I find it hard to take.
Computer Arts is the one magazine that it is actually worth the cost of each issue. It’s a little hard to swallow a $17 magazine cover price, but the information is invaluable. I have to say that I’ve saved every issue of computer arts that I have bought, and it is the only magazine that I actually crack open old issues. The tutorials are great.
The funny thing is I’ve never been into porno mags. The pictures just don’t do it for me. Although a few years ago I was given a few hundred porno mags, that I have subsequently given them all up except my Taboo, I only keep it for research anyway.
I'm a magazine whore too...I have bought so many magazines per month that I rarely get to read.
