While doing my perfunctory morning surf session, I stumbled upon one of my usual haunts www.needled.com and the weekely tattoo news. That is where I found this article that she highlights, basically talking about the shallowness and ugliness of women getting tattooed.
Yea you got it, the article was a general yawn but it did make me think.
Are we (being the tattoo community) really saying anything deep to the world through our tattoos.
I can only speak for my self, and the answer is a definitive No. I'm not saying anything deep about myself. I just like the look.
What look, does your suburban ass want to look like some type of urban gangster like tupac or the #1 thug over here.
No but I do want to look different than your boyfriend over there sitting on the couch playing his x box waiting for dinner to be cooked baby.
This is one reason why when people ask, what should I get blah, blah, blah, I usually reply with my canned
Why because it really doesn't fucken matter what the hell you get. Its all about what it is to you, be it your look, or your children, or whatever.
Do I wan't tattoos to ever be mainstream,
Hell No!!!!
Then what is the point of getting tattooed, especially if its visible other than sticking it to the man just a little bit.
