The Daily Stoic, Ryan Holiday. A quote for every day of the year.

“It isn’t events themselves that disturb people, but only their judgments about them.”
— Epictetus, Enchiridion, 5
I mean to read from the Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday, Daily.
The days that my day is started with a mediation over a stoic quote are always better for it.
Its a good read, its not a book meant to be read through. There is a tidbit dropped every day. The quote above is from the April 10th (oh my that’s today) entry.
Seeing things for what they are not what we see them as is a habit that will bring peace. We control our judgements, even if we don’t control the events themselves.
“It is not freedom from conditions, but it is freedom to take a stand toward the conditions.”
Viktor E. Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning
